Apple’s Manufacturing Plans in India have Govt. Support: Industry Minister

Apple’s plan of manufacturing devices in India hasn’t seen much progress in the past due to certain hurdles, but according to a top cabinet minister, the government is willing to resolve the issues and is waiting for Apple to submit a formal proposal.

Regarding the government’s attitude towards Apple’s strategy, Suresh Prabhu (Commerce and Industry Minister) said,“We will be very happy to receive Apple, one of the top brands in the world. We are willing to find out if there is any difficulty they may face. We will be more than happy to resolve that difficulty.”

He further revealed that the government is awaiting a formal proposal from Apple and will proceed accordingly to help Apple set up manufacturing plants in India.
